About the Credit Sale Program

The Cooperative Credit Sale Program has two principal purposes.  First is to allow the credit sale facilitator to become involved in the transaction at an early stage so that value can be added to the transaction and problems can be avoided at their inception.  Second is to allow the land trusts to share in the revenue generated by the sale of the credits, and to thus put that money back to work promoting further land conservation in Georgia.  This Program has been applied successfully in other states, and has been proven to be a responsible way to sell credits, and to promote further conservation at the same time.
